I assume that you have never dumped a bike by using to much rear brake. I have and didn't take a second time for me to lean to stop using only the rear brakes. not only that but the SAvage stops so good with both brakes. I've read that the Savage has bad brakes and sure if it was a 500 or 700lb bike they would be but I think they are good for a 350lb bike.
One question, why don't you(or didn't you) use the front brake??
